One Month Until Midnight Walk 2025!

08 April 2025

There is just under a month to go until St Elizabeth Hospice’s Midnight Walk returns for 2025.

Taking place on Saturday 10 May, at Trinity Park Events, this year’s Midnight Walk will be a pyjama party themed night.

Sponsored by Persimmon Homes Suffolk, the event will see hundreds of walkers dress in their most vibrant and colourful pyjamas as they take on a seven-mile circular route along the streets of Ipswich.

Starting at Trinity Park, the route will take walkers to the hospice grounds to write heartfelt messages to remember loved ones on a special Memory Wall, before walking down to the iconic Ipswich Waterfront and then returning to Trinity Park to complete their challenges.

Crowds gathered for Midnight Walk 2024

James Fox-Golding, Events and Challenges Manager at St Elizabeth Hospice, said: “The excitement is really building as the Midnight Walk draws closer!

“We’re looking forward to coming together with the community and our supporters to bring a fantastic party atmosphere to Ipswich for this much-loved fundraiser.

“All the funds raised, by the Midnight Walk, will make a huge difference to the patients and families in our care, as Ross Wishart’s powerful story shows. By taking part, you’ll be supporting your local hospice and helping to ensure people in your community receive compassionate care when they need it most.”

With last year’s event raising over £135,000 to support the hospice’s vital services, the Midnight Walk returns for the 19th time offering supporters and the local community a chance to party in their pyjamas and raise funds for the hospice through sponsorship, as well as an opportunity to remember loved ones who are no longer with us.

The Wishart Family

One family who understands the importance of the hospice’s services, and who have previously taken part in the Midnight Walk, is the Wishart family (pictured above).

“We are eternally grateful for the love and support the hospice provided to Jemma and our family,” explained Ross Wishart, whose wife, Jemma, received support from St Elizabeth Hospice until her death, aged 38-years-old, in July 2024.

“We’ve always been keen fundraisers for various charities. In fact, Jemma and I took part in the hospice’s Christmas Day Dip many years ago. While Jemma was receiving care, our family also participated in the charity’s Midnight Walk (pictured below).

“It was a fantastic event, and at the halfway point, the route takes you through the hospice. Jemma was able to see us there and wish us well, which made the experience even more special.

“The hospice gave Jemma a peaceful and dignified end-of-life, allowing us to be together as a family and share precious moments. These memories will stay with us forever, and I cannot thank the hospice enough for making that possible.

“This is why we will continue to support the charity however we can and encourage others to do the same.

“Whether through fundraising, volunteering, or taking part in events like the Midnight Walk, you’re making a real difference to families like mine who are supported by the hospice during difficult times in their lives.”

All ticket proceeds and donations for Midnight Walk will go to St Elizabeth Hospice, which every year provides support to over 4,000 patients & families living with life-limiting illnesses in East & Mid-Suffolk, Great Yarmouth and Waveney.
